Self Care is the fine art of taking care of yourself. This may sound simple but there are many forces that swirl around each of us that can influence us in other directions. Actually self-care is simple, it just may not be easy all of the time. One of the factors that makes self-care challenging is that it also requires knowing a bit about ourselves. Too often, it may be with our own self that we spend too little time with. With this in mind here are a few tips for self-care:
Take time first thing in the morning, either while in the bed or upon rising to practice deep breathing. You will give yourself a wonderful energy boost.
The ability to walk upright on our two legs sets us apart from all of the creatures on earth! Walking outdoors is one the best forms of exercise there is. Walking is simple and easy. The sun and the air will do a body and soul, good.
Benjamin Franklin was on to something with his aphorism, "early to bed and early to rise will make one healthy, wealthy and wise." Try it for yourself.
Life is a journey, not a race, pace yourself. What's the hurry?
Rediscover quiet. Turn off the tv and the radio and enjoy the sounds of silence.
Focus on eating real vs. processed and packaged foods.
Need I say more?
Learn to flow with life. Instead of fuming and fretting, learn to realize and accept that everything is well and just enjoy every precious second.
